50th Anniversary Celebration Programme

The SFT 50th Anniversary Celebration Programme has a cornucopia of components to satisfy the most demanding of delegates!  This very special occasion will be heavily subsidised by your Society and is offered for a little over the normal conference fee and will include:

• Significant speakers and chairmen
• Lunch, drinks reception and dinner plus wine
• After dinner entertainment
• 4 star accommodation, breakfast and free parking
• New Generation Forum
• A display of historical material taking you back in feed industry history
• Networking. Ample opportunity to make new connections and discuss common issues with industry colleagues
• Harper Adams University tour and light lunch

Thursday 8th June: Conferences

The conference takes on a new format for this special occasion. A larger range of subject papers will be offered to appeal to all species’ interests. The morning sessions will be divided into two simultaneous conferences, one discussing common Pig and Poultry topics and one Ruminant topics.

In the afternoon the conferences will conjoin for a tour of the animal feed industry’s past and then back to the future, conducted by those who were there!

Pig and Poultry Conference – 10am
• Improving the Efficiency of Pig and Poultry Production through Enzyme and Biotechnology Developments
• Genetic developments and their future application to pig and poultry production
• Animal Feed’s Role in the Greening of the Single Market (PEF update)

Ruminant Conference – 10am
• Feed Efficiency in Beef Systems
• Healthy Milk – nutritional strategies
• Future Developments in Dairy Production

• The Effect of Human Food Chain Developments on the Livestock Industry
